Active Interest Media Buys Gloucester Publishers Titles
Deal solidifies old-house and home-restoration multi-media platform
Chantilly, VA (April 10, 2009)—Active Interest Media (AIM) announced today that it has acquired four titles from Gloucester Publishers of Gloucester, MA. AIM, which already has a leading position in the niche with Old-House Journal, New Old House and their related websites, has purchased Old-House Interiors, Arts & Crafts Homes, Early Homes, The Design Sourcebook and their accompanying online brands.
The titles will be published out of Chantilly, VA-based Home Buyer Publications (HBP), a division of AIM. “These publications and their online properties have a great affinity for each other,” said AIM Chief Operating Officer Andy Clurman. “Bringing them together will strengthen each of them, affording circulation growth, maximized web site traffic, and collaborative content planning.”
“The business location of these titles will change, but the dedication to connecting people who love old houses and old-house style—along with craftsmen and companies who produce products for period houses—will never change,” said Laurie Sloan; Group Publisher of AIM’s Home Buyer Publications Group. “We are extremely dedicated to serving these passionate readers and advertisers.”
Patricia Poore, who created and shepherded these magazines over the years, will remain as editor in chief.
