Home Buyer Publications Names Tim Schreiner Editorial Director
Chantilly, VA — Active Interest Media (AIM) has named Timothy D. Schreiner as editorial director of Home Buyer Publications (HBP), announced Laurie Sloan, general manager at HBP.
"We are thrilled to have an editorial director of Tim's caliber to oversee our home division content", Sloan said. "His experience in special interest media and the housing category makes him a perfect fit for our brands. He has a proven track record of improving profitability across multiple media, while strengthening relationships with both consumers and marketers."
"This is a great opportunity to use my experience in innovating home magazines and web sites and my love of the creative editorial process to help Home Buyer Publications and Active Interest Media produce ever-better magazines, web sites and products," Schreiner said. "I am excited about the challenge of working with a great staff and creating useful information for all of the readers in the many categories served by our publications."
Schreiner will be responsible for directing content across all platforms, including print, events and e-media. Under his editorial guidance, HBP plans to extend the current brands, conduct in-depth consumer research and continue to emphasize online and digital content and community development.
Schreiner was most recently publisher of FineHomebuilding.com and Fine Homebuilding magazine, where he led the magazine to record revenue, profit, circulation and advertising sales. He was also on the board of directors of BuildingGreen, where he directed the team that launched GreenBuildingAdvisor.com earlier this year.
He ascended to publisher from the editorial side of the business. He was editor of Fine Woodworking and Home Furniture magazines. In addition, he had been editor of the Oakland (CA) Tribune, as well as an editor at The San Francisco Chronicle, and USA Today.
